Efforts Vs Results

We should value efforts more than, how good the result or output is... This I learnt last weekend when I was at my Aunt's house. I was helping her to cook Dinner for her son who was coming back from a week long outstation trip. That night, we all sat for dinner and for some reason her son didn't like the food and told her that the food was tasteless and he would like to order something from outside. My Aunt didn't utter a single word in defense and quietly nodded to agreement. I looked into her eyes, she was trying to avoid eye contact with me but I read the disappointment in her eyes. I didn't say anything, neither to her nor to my cousin, but I made a resolution in my mind that I would always value the efforts more than the result. :)
