Weekend Trip to Pavagadh

Image
It was after a long time that we three friends Sachin, Indresh and me went on a trip together. Unlike always where either of us would get caught up with work and would end up missing the trip. We booked tatkal tickets to Baroda, Gujarat from Mumbai. On Friday night we boarded train to Vadodara and it takes approximately Six hours to reach the destination. We were happy to see that our train had LHB coaches. The sleep was comfortable and we were up ready to alight at Vadodara in the morning. We brushed our teeth and used lavatory inside the train so that we don't have the pain to go elsewhere to freshen up. The next destination was Vadodra Central Bus station, which was just at a stone throe distance from the railway station. On our way we had masala chai and masala poha for the breakfast. At the bus stand, we boarded a bus for Pavagadh. Early morning the bus was empty and we secured the first seat behind the Driver. This is personally my favourite seat as it gives th...

A Weekend Trip to Dwarka and Bet Dwarka

A weekend spent at home is a weekend wasted! Dwarka, Gujarat was one of the destinations which was on the top of my bucket list. Top on the list because of easy transportation and can be traveled within a weekend. Immediately I called up my travel partner Indresh Pal and as always, he was ready for another adventure with me. I checked for the tickets, the trains were running houseful. We decided to get Tatkal and booked return tickets which had a waitlist of 1, for which we were pretty much sure that it would get confirmed. A day before the trip I booked the ticket from Mumbai to Okha train and was successful in getting Tatkal tickets. Me and Indresh met at railway station and got ready for our adventurous journey. The train journey was boring. We were surrounded by an over enthusiastic family who didn’t let us sleep even at night. Also, there was no pantry car in train and we just came across two vendors in the whole journey. One was Chana bhel and other w...

Backpack Trip to Yana Caves and Camping at Gokarna

Gokarna main beach Preface Unlike a conventional blog post, this post is way too different. This is more of a pictorial blog. I will be taking you through my travel journey with the pictures I have captured on my trip. You will not find some metaphysical shit like "the place I left my heart" and "I lost my soul over there, blah blah". The trip had zero luxury as we planned it to be as cheap as possible by staying in tents, planning our traveling at night, no hotel reservations and choosing walks, lifts and public transport as a means of traveling from one destination to another. Money less traveled! With Good Friday holiday, it was a long weekend coming up. Long weekends are the best time for getaways as you don’t have to apply/request for leaves. With time running fast and the weekend coming closer, I was under the tremendous pressure of selecting a place, preparing the itinerary, booking tickets and so on. Keeping the only criteria in my mind, to ...
